GRESKO, Peggy J. Age 43. Dear daughter of Matt and Pat (nee Porterfield). Loving sister of Jacqie Gresko-Kidd and Michael. Cherished aunt of Danielle and Alexandra, and great aunt of Madison and Catherine. Loved by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Peggy resided in the Parma area all of her life. She attended Incarnate Word Academy and was a graduate of Holy Name High School. She earned a BA in business from Ashland University and enjoyed the business field throughout her life, although it was to the computer field that her education and training eventually led her. Through her broad-based technology skills she excelled as an IT Specialist where she found Testing and Training most rewarding. During her professional career she was employed with Legacy Health, Solomon Software and, for the past five years, Intuit.
Peggy enjoyed all opportunities to travel both alone or with friends. She never turned down the chance to take a cruise, and on a trip to Italy several years ago, fell completely under the spell of the beauty and the people of Tuscany. A trip “Down Under” was in her future…
She loved sports, and The Cleveland Browns could enthusiastically claim Peggy as one of their faithful season ticket holders. Peggy persevered in these activities despite many health challenges over the years. She met life head-on and refused to be sidelined by adversity. Along the way, she realized coveted rewards for overcoming medical issues, such as the Browns tickets, and the acquistion of her beloved canine companion, Kody, or packing her bags for yet another trip.
Peggy left us all too soon and will be fondly remembered with joy by her family and numerous friends. She is an inspiration in our lives showing all who knew her how to live and love…
Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 6730 State Rd., Parma. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. VISITATION AT THE ZABOR FUNERAL HOME, 5680 PEARL RD., PARMA, (BETWEEN RIDGE AND SNOW), FRIDAY, 2-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Northern Ohio Chapter, 23297 Commerce Park, Cleveland, OH 44122.
Messages of Condolence
Dear Pat & Matt,
Please accept my sincere condolences on Peggy’s death. I know how devastated you must be, just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. All my love,
Winnie
Dear Pat,
I’m so sorry about the loss of Peggy. She certainly fought the
good fight, and kept her courage. I kept her in my prayers from
the time we talked in the parking lot. You know that the angels led
her into Paradise.
Pat & Matt, & Family, I’m not sure you remember me but my sister
Nancy was good friends with Marye, and went to nursing school
with her. I’m Nancys younger sister. I remember Peggy when she
was a young kid. She has been in my prayers for a long time, as well as your entire family. My thoughts and prayers will be with you
these next few days and beyond. She certainly suffered a lot for
such a young age. I know that Aunt Marye thought a lot of her.
Sally
You all are in our prayers. She is in a better place now!
God Bless,
The Popovich Family
I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Peggy, but worked for Matt Gresko for many years, and met Pat on more than one occassion. One comment Matt made years ago as President of the hospital was that he was honored to have watched so many of his employees and their families grow. I am sorry that your family had to lose a cherished member of yours. My sincerest condolences.
Dear Pat and Matt,
I cannot even begin to fathom the grief over the loss of your beloved Peggy. In spite of her illness, she still managed to attend my mom’s funeral six months ago. She was kind, sweet and caring. These memories will always remain in my heart.
Love and prayers always,
Joy
Mr & Mrs. Gresko and Family,
I’m so very sorry for the loss of Peggy. I havn’t seen her in years, but my sister Nancy and my niece Dawn kept me up to speed about her. She was one tough young lady. She is in a much better place now. I’ll never forget our laughs at ‘Suburban Hospital”. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Family of Peggy,
I join with so many others who knew Peggy in offering our deepest sympathy on her passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in her passing you can celebrate the end of a very productive life.
The measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched and the sorrow they leave behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on her loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that Peggy indeed was a life well-lived.
May you find peace and comfort in knowing that her loss is felt by all who knew and loved her.
In Sympathy,
Melissa Leyland
Peggy was a nice person to know and I had the honor of attending grade school and high school with her. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to her family at this time.
I can still remember Peggy when she was a baby many years ago growing up in Parma. My family and I offer the Gresko family our sincere sympathies and condolences as does my mother Virginia Morgan in Arizona. May God bless you all.
Don Morgan Jr.
