John H. HIGGINS, age 90. Passed away on June 2, 2011 at Gardens of the Western Reserve. John was born in Cleveland on December 8, 1920, to parents Ann M. and James H. Higgins. Preceded in death by his loving wife LaMona and his daughter Kathy. John leaves behind niece Karen Martin Duffy (Stephen), and nephew L. James Martin (Terri). John served his country honorably in WWII as a Marine in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. When he came home he took a job at Ford and worked his way through the Marshall School of Law. He managed his own legal practice for 50 years and also retired from Ford Motor Company. John was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, and was the epitome of the Marine Corps motto, semper fidelis. He was as kind and gentle as he was steadfast.
FRIENDS MAY JOIN THE FAMILY FOR VISITATION SUNDAY, JUNE 5 FROM 5-7 P.M. AT THE ZABOR FUNERAL HOME, 5680 PEARL RD., PARMA (BETWEEN RIDGE AND SNOW). Mass of Christian Burial, Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Parish. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.

John and I worked nights together at Ford many years ago. He was a very nice and friendly person. Sorry to see he passed away but am sure he is in a better place. Semper Fi.
John was devoted to family, his home,and his work.He was responsible, reliable, dependable, loyal,and stalwart.He never would have considered doign anthing wrong,or not doing that which was right.We are better off for having people such as him in our lives.
