Jim, Lori and family,
We were deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Jim’s mother. In the short while that we have been at St. Francis, we have met a lot of wonderful people and families, and we certainly count you among them. May the God of Life comfort your family as you grieve the loss of your mother and grandmother.
We will keep you and your mom in our prayers.
Greg and Betty
To the Gutbrod Family:
I remember your mother/grandmother/ sister/aunt not as you knew her, but as Miss Carroll, recently graduated from Kent State U. and our new speech teacher and coach at St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland. She was pretty, energetic and ready to make our speech and debate program the best in the state. And she was good! We learned a lot from her, and as I remember, did quite well at tournaments. We also shared in the excitement when she became engaged to John Gutbrod and threw a shower in her honor. Great memories of a lovely lady!
My condolences to you on your loss.
To the Gutbrod families
We knew Geraldine only a little as she stayed with Marie and family on Sullivans Island, but appreciated the spunk and love she shared with all. We send sympathy and prayers. Dave, Mae Millicent, Carolyn, John and Marguerite
To the Gutbrod Family,
I have just learned of your mothers passing and I want to share my condolences with you. I had the good fortune of meeting and working with Gerry in late 1974- while at CCBMRDD Title I program at St. Georges School. I was just out of Grad School and was consulting with the class of children that your mother was working with. I remember that she always had a smile on her face, just like her picture in the paper, and it was that more than the name that caught my eye. She was always pleasant and wanting the best for her charges. She spoke of you all frequently and educated me about the lay of the land -Cleveland which was so foreign to me. I learned a lot from her just as I hope my suggestions and therapy techniques were helpful for her. She has left a lasting impression on me as I am sure on you. May her memory be eternal. I wish you all peace. God Bless.
Dear Gutbrod Family,
Please accept my condolences in the loss of your mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. I had the pleasure of beginning my career at CCBDD with Gerry and worked with her as the speech pathologist for her classes until her retirement. She was always so dedicated and hard working, cheery, and interested in everyone with whom she worked. We kept in touch for many years and I was saddened when finally, my annual Christmas card to the Parma address was returned to me. I know each of you has wonderful memories of her; she was a special lady. May your sorrow bring you peace.
Evelyn
Dear Gutbrod Family,
I’m sorry for your loss!! I worked with Matt at Firestone and we were friends. I met your mother a few times and remember how sweet she was!!! I was checking another obit, and found yours! Once again, I’m sorry for your loss!
Dear Gutbrod Family,
I am sorry I only realized your mom passed now in April, my deepest sympathies for your loss. I remember your mom as a friendly busy young mom with bunches of babies on Pearl Road. (like many families in the area) She tolerated all of us ‘other’ kids playing in your backyard making loads of noise and she was always smiling. Later on, I recall Gerry as one of the gals that cleaned the church at St. Bridget — which encouraged me to do the same, as I admired your mom. Your mother (our mothers) in that generation were dedicated mothers with strong family values and women of faith. God bless them – may they rest in God’s peace! Mary Buchholz Galinas
