KMIECIK, George A.

George A. KMIECIK, age 85, born Aug. 7, 1928, beloved husband, father, grandfather – fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith, before entering the Kingdom Sun., Dec. 15. He graduated from St. Ignatius HS (’46), and earned his undergraduate and Master degrees from John Carroll (’52). George went on to serve his country in the Army, where he was stationed in France. Upon returning home, he served his community for 30 years by educating, mentoring and making a positive difference in the lives of America’s youth as a history teacher at Wilbur Wright Jr. HS. George was married to the love of his life, Millie, for 60 years and a member of St. Anthony’s Parish for 50 years. Survived by: Wife, Mildred (nee Bartchak); Son, Thomas; Daughter-In-Law, Maria; Grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle; Brother, Frank and Sister, Rose. Preceded in death by: Sons, George and David; and Sister, Irene.
Funeral Mass: Fri. Dec. 20, 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Church. Visitation: Thurs. 2-4 and 6-8 PM at THE ZABOR FUNERAL HOME, 5680 Pearl Rd. Parma (betw. Snow & Ridge).

I remember Mr. Kmiecik as a wonderful teacher from Wilbur Wright (class of ’64). Most recently my husband had the privilege of escorting him to some doctor appointments through Ride to Recovery. My condolences to the family of Mr. Kmiecik.
