SCHANZ, Susan M., (nee Weiland) age 89. Beloved wife of the late Karl. Dearest mother of Paul (Linda), Carl (Susan) and Richard. Dear sister and friend to many.
Susan spent years as a “stay at home Mom” raising her 3 sons with love, kindness and understanding. She then worked in the family business, Ohio Orthopedic Company, and also spent years working at Yorktown Bowling Lanes where many bowlers referred to her as “Mom”. Susan combined her enjoyment of music and her German heritage by being a member of the Heights Damenchor for 42 years – spending many of those years as their president. Always having a love for animals, she spent her last years quietly at home with her dog “Schatzie” and finally her 2 cats.
A private graveside service will be held at Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial and celebration of Susan’s life will take place July 24th. Location to be announced at a later date.

Messages of Condolence
I am so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. She was a spunky lady that was always super friendly and fun to be around. I work for Retina Associates and when we would see Susan’s name on the schedule we would all look forward to her arrival. She raised fantastic sons that took amazing care of her with love and an abundance of patience. My heart goes out to them! I just lost a parent and I know the pain of that void.
Susan, thank you for making “just another day at the office” a fun time!! We will miss you!
My sincere condolences to the family. Tamara Cunningham from Dr. Novak’s offce.
