PHILLIPS-KONCHAN, Linda.  Passed away April 30, 2018.  Beloved wife of Ken Konchan.  Daughter of Betty and Jim Phillips (both deceased).  Sister of the late Sharon Frank (Neil) and the late James Phillips (Chris).  Loving aunt of Kelly Frank (Chris) Hargis of Houston, TX, and the late Tracey Frank (Sean) Allen of Denver, CO.   Great aunt of Shea Hargis and Caden and Sydney Allen whom she loved dearly. 

Linda was an honors graduate of Valley Forge High School, and Dean’s List at Ohio University where she had a double major in English Literature (specializing in the Romantic Poets, Wordsworth, Keats, Byron, Shelley, the Brownings, and W.B. Yeats) and Psychology.  She also attended the Naropa Institute and Colorado University, both in Boulder, for training as a Psychological Test Diagnostician. 

Linda worked as the manager of corporate travel for Travel Systems in Cleveland, as a Diagnostician at The Child Psychological Services Clinic in Denver, and a regional sales rep for Lipton Tea, and later Nestle’s, where she won numerous awards as she managed the Plan-O-Gram organization for Cleveland groceries. 

She was a long time member of Parma South Presbyterian Church in Parma Hts., and recenty with Southwest Unitarian Universalist Church in North Royalton.  After retirement in 2000 she and Ken spent time between their summer home on Cedar Bonnet Island, NJ and North Royalton, as well as extensive travel.  Linda enjoyed reading as her pastime. 

Linda donated her body to the Ohio University Heritage School of Ostepathic Medicine.

  1. Linda was a dear friend who was influential in my life. She was a tough and intelligent woman who achieved success at many levels despite difficult obstacles. I am sorry to hear of her passing, but I am hopeful she is peaceful in the hereafter.

    So sorry to hear of your loss. Linda was a super fan during my basketball years at VF. I know a great woman stands beside a great man, and you were a huge influence in my life as my coach.   3. Very sad on hearing about Linda passing.I was good friends with her brother Jim .I grew up on Kingsdale and was neighbors with the family. Linda was a very sweet person and I will always remember the good times I had with her and the family.
