KMIECK, John A.

John A. KMIECK, MD age 94. John was born Nov. 13, 1924 and was the beloved husband of 68 years to Joan (nee McManamon). Devoted father of Peter (Marie), Connie Gleason (Mike), Jack (Terri), Ken, Denise and Matt (Carolyn). Loving grandfather of Alexis, Peter, Jeff, Regan, Kevin, Chris, Pat and Kathleen. Dear son of the late Dr. Peter J. and Effie Kmieck and brother to Pete and Effie Clair Mahrdt (deceased). John was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School, John Carroll University and St. Louis Medical School. He served as Captain and Flight Surgeon for the US Air Force in Moses Lake, WA. Upon his return to Cleveland, he was a Urological surgeon at Parma, Deaconess and Charity Hospitals. He enjoyed tennis, skiing and was voted All City in hockey. He and Joan traveled the world but always found comfort being with their family. As a daily Mass attendee, John led a deeply faith filled life.
