FORISTER, Dorothy L.

Dorothy L. Forister (nee Kappler) (nee Reisinger) entered into eternal life on May 1, 2020. Dorothy was a member of St. Leo Parish beginning in 1956, when she and her first husband, Robert Kappler Sr. (deceased) bought their first home. They raised their two children, Judy Ladaika (Michael Sr.) and Robert Jr. in the parish. Dorothy was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother and could be counted on to transport one or two of the sisters on errands for the convent. Dorothy married William Forister (deceased) in 1995 and they moved to St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick. In 2014 Dorothy moved
back to St. Leo Parish. In addition to being a mother of two, Dorothy was a grandmother of 5, a great-grandmother of 17, a dear sister, aunt and friend of many. Dorothy loved to sing and dance. A private burial will take place at Holy Cross cemetery. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Leo Parish at a later date.

Messages of Condolence

  1. Dear Judy, I am profoundly sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I know you have a very closely knit family and this must be especially hard during this challenging time. Please accept my condolences and prayers for God’s grace to help all of you through this.

  2. Judy and Bob and family, peace!
She was my Girl Scout leader as a grade schooler, and then the aunt of my husband (and me) later! God speed good and faithful servant.

  3. Judy,

So sorry to hear of your loss. Your mother was so dear and kind to me. She was more than just a friend’s mom. She truly cared. Wish I could be part of her services. Take care. Love , Marilyn
