Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Graduated from Columbia High School and resided in Berea, Strongsville and Valley City. Jim will forever be remembered for his outstanding friendly personality, his great sense of humor, his generosity and the delicious meals he graciously prepared and we devoured. He loved sports and faithfully attended his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s games. He loved getting in the car and going places.
Jim started J&J Appliance in Berea, Ohio in 1957 and worked tirelessly at his business until his recent retirement. He could be found at Berea Glass enjoying an afternoon coffee break with good friends.
Although Jim’s body has worn out, his youthful spirit is eternal. His love of Jesus Christ is our anchor of hope for a future, heavenly reunion. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Jim ascended into heaven on August 4, 2020 after complications from the Corona virus. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. Friends and Family can leave messages at Zabor Funeral home memorial page at www.zaborfh.com
Messages of Condolence
Dear Stropko Family, So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. Our Condolences to all of you . Dennis & Joanie Cancian
The years I knew Jim he was always upbeat. His infectious smile always generated more from all. He always treated me like family, my condolences to Jim’s entire family. He will be truly missed. God Bless you all! Carl DeLembo
Back in June, my refrigerator ‘died’ after a whopping 6 years. My dear friend suggested I call J&J because they were reputable and reliable. That is how I met Jim (aka Sam!). His kindness and help trying to find the right repairman or new refrigerator during a PANDEMIC will always be remembered. What a lovely man – and we never even met in person!
God bless your family as you feel and mourn the loss of a very kind man.
60 years ago I walked around the corner from my house on Vivian to Jim’s garage on Jananna – I needed a part for an appliance. That was the beginning. For the next 60 yrs I have enjoyed the smiling face of the guy that sold and serviced applianced at my homes 1st in Berea and later in Strongsville. I will miss Jim always with a pleasant tone and a big smile. God bless.
