KOMAR, Alan John

Alan John Komar, age 70, was born on February 26, 1951 to the late Albert and Florence Komar (nee Klassen).  Al went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Cherished husband of 44 years to Gloria Mary Komar (nee Bakos).  Loving and proud father of Katherine and Andy (fiancée, Danielle Gross).  Snack providing and playful grandfather of Hanz (dog).  Dear brother-in-law of Shirlee Bakos, the late John Bakos (Susan), and Andrea Chilton (Peter).  Dear uncle and friend to many. Al was an award-winning, master woodworker, Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Assembly 2397, Holy Name member (former president) and 41 year employee of AT&T.

Visitation 3-7 at Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Rd.(Between Snow  and Ridge Roads) on Sunday, March 21, 2021.  Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 am at St. Matthias Church.  Please meet at the church, 1200 W. Sprague Rd., Parma (live streaming on their Facebook page, St. Matthias the Apostle Church and on www.stmatthiaschurch.org  on the home page. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Masks and social distancing are required. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Al’s name to The ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 403, Independence, OH 44131 or Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Road, Parma, OH  44134

    My deepest condolences for your loss. Al was great man who truly lived the Catholic faith in every way, as a man, husband and father. While Masses will be offered for the repose of his soul, I am convinced that there is a Saint Alan in heaven and I will be asking for his prayers and his intercession.
