STANFORD, Richard LeRoy II

Richard LeRoy STANFORD II, age 73, of Middleburg Heights, OH passed away on June 13, 2021.
Rick was the loving husband to Roswitha (Koch) for 37 years. The loving father to Aaron (Katie), Christopher (Jessica), Andrew and Ricky. The loving grandfather to Braeden (Sonia), Emma, Tessa, Beckett, Daniel, Gracelyn, Knox and Oaklyn. The loving great-grandfather to Evalyn, Alex and Kingston. The loving brother to Linda Thompson (Gary), Von Schafer (Gary) and Kim Seelinger (Don). The loving brother-in-law to Rudy Koch (Tina). He leaves behind nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends around the world. He was, also, the loving father to his adopted children in Mexico; Vicki, Soni, Ricardo and Stephanie and grandfather to their eight children.
Rick was born on May 12, 1948 in Warren, Ohio to his parents, Dick and Doris Stanford. He grew up on his cherished family farm in Williamsfield, Ohio.
Rick earned a degree from Cleveland State University Fenn College in mechanical engineering and was a Professional Engineer. He was an entrepreneur. He started Stanford and Associates, an accident reconstruction consulting firm, while still in college. Rick was respected in his field and worked on many types of forensic cases. He also formed Stanmex, Inc., which was a fleet management company, and then formed Stanford Telematics.
Rick’s work and leisure time were both filled with travel, which was what he most enjoyed in life. He loved traveling the world, meeting new people and learning about new cultures. Rick was bighearted and compassionate. He was always ready to help a friend or a stranger. His family believes his generosity was extraordinary. He was genuinely kind to all. Rick made friends quickly wherever he traveled. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rick was a lifelong Christian, whose faith was very important to him. He truly lived what he believed.
Many thanks to all the staff at M. D. Anderson and at Hospice of the Western Reserve for their work, kindness and friendship in helping Rick navigate through the past four years.

Arrangements have been made at The Zabor Funeral Home where VISITATION WILL BE, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16, 5:00-8:00 PM. FUNERAL SERVICE ALSO AT THE FUNERAL HOME, THURSDAY, JUNE 17, 10:30 AM. INTERMENT, WOODVALE CEMETERY.

My heart goes out to Rose and her family. The world will not be the same without Rick.
I worked with Rick throughout the years and always enjoyed my interactions with him. He was a top-notch accident reconstrucionist and a top-notch human being. We will all miss Rick. May his memory be a blessing. My condolences to his family.
