MASSEY, Alice M.

Alice May (nee Mootz) MASSEY passed away on January 17, of natural causes. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, February 5, at The Freedom Church of God, 12401 Cooley Ave, Cleveland, 44111. A luncheon will be held directly afterwards in the church fellowship hall. 
Alice was born in Chicago on February 1, 1930. She was married to Marple Massey in August 1969; they were married 35 years. Alice worked as a waitress at the Colony restaurant in Cleveland. She was known for her humor and practical jokes. Alice came to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 1976 which transformed her life. From that point on, she lived her life for Him in all she did.
Alice is survived by her step children David Massey (Tina), Kathy Hitchcock, grandchildren, William Lightner (Tammy), Robert Lightner (Nicole), Elizabeth Lightner, Joseph Massey (Nichole), Steven Massey, Sara Massey, Kyle Hitchcock, great grandchildren, Kenny Lightner, Kinley Lightner, Waylon Massey, Ellie Massey and many loving nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Albert Mootz, Helen Barton, and step children; Diane Lightner (William), Bruce Massey and her beloved husband Marple Massey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice’s name may be given to The Freedom Church of God, 12401 Cooley Ave. Cleveland, 44111 for their ministry visiting shut-ins, hospitals, and nursing homes. Alice was a part of this ministry and received their love and visits faithfully until her passing into the presence of her Lord.
